Tom Brandau

Tom Brandau (b. August 23, 1960) is a filmmaker and Film Studies professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He also volunteers his time as a committee member of the Fargo Film Festival, and has served from 2005 to the present. He is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and arrived at MSUM in the Fall of 2004 after the MSUM Film Studies program became a full-fledged major. Tom is also a Directing Fellow Graduate of the American Film Institute in Los Angeles and holds an MFA in Theatre.
Tom has worked as a freelance writer/director on many regional and national commercial campaigns and spent five years as writer/producer/director for Fox 45 Television in Baltimore. His films have won numerous regional and national awards and have aired on the Discovery Channel as well as several PBS stations.
