Main Details[]

Plot Summary[]

Rob, a star center on the college hockey team, and his cheerleader girlfriend Jill, miss an out-of-town game due to injuries and then must re-evaluate their lives when they get news that the rest of the team was killed in a plane crash.

Production Information[]

School Spirit was shot in Grand Forks on 3/4" U-matic videotape as a student project in the University of North Dakota Department of Speech (now the Department of Communications), using the postproduction facilities of UND Television. A 51-minute version was broadcast on Prairie Public Television and the uncut original was shown on UND's Channel 3 on the Grand Forks cable system.

The edited masters of both the complete and abridged versions, along with all the original tape footage were destroyed in the flood of 1997. All that survives is a VHS copy of a Betamax mono mixdown copied from the U-matic stereo master of the full-length version.
