The Ruth Landfield Award is an honor given by members of the Fargo Film Festival committee to films of artistic merit that profile women of courage, conviction, and compassion. The award was named for Ruth Landfield, a well-known community supporter of the arts, for her long standing commitment to the health and well-being of the historic Fargo Theatre. The award was inaugurated at the 2003 Fargo Film Festival.
