Richard Zinober (b. ?) is a writer and professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He teaches playwriting and screenwriting, and has also taught Film and the Novel. His play Seekers of the Light was adapted as On the First Day, a film by Australian director Toni Main. Published by Playscripts, Incorporated, Seekers of the Light won First Prize in the Ann White New Playwrights Contest and has been produced at the Ann White Theater In Ft. Lauderdale, the West End Gate Theater in New York City, AmeriStage in Dallas, Pepperdine University in California and TASCAS in Leeds, England.

Another of Zinober's plays, The House at the Edge of the World, won the Charles M. Getchell Award in the SETC New Play Project competition and was produced at the Minneapolis Fringe Festival. His play Adventures in Space was produced by the Red Octopus Theater Company in Newport, Oregon. A one-act play, Once Loved, won First Prize in Playwriting in the Porter Fleming Literary Contest, sponsored by the Augusta Arts Council.
