[edit] Plot Summary

Plain Art follows the journey of six Fargo-Moorhead architects commissioned by artist Marjorie Schlossman to develop mobile art chaplets.

In 2005, Fargo, North Dakota-based abstract painter Marjorie Schlossman launched the Roberts Street Chaplet Project, inviting six local architects to design small, portable, non-denominational chapels that could be moved around the state. The spaces would feature Schlossman’s work and would function as public contemplation areas. Shot over a period of two years, Plain Art intimately documents Schlossman’s collaboration with the architects who were each given $25,000 and one year to design and build a chaplet.
