Kun-I Chang (b. ?) is an animator, designer, and moviemaker based in New York, New York. A 2006 graduate of the MFA program in Computer Art at the School of the Visual Arts in New York, his short Fission (2006) won the Gold Medal in the Alternative category at the 34th Annual Student Academy Awards on June 9, 2007.
Born in Taiwan, Kun-I Chang has been involved in various design and art fields as a designer, animator, and a video artist. He studied Communication Design at Shih Chien University in Taiwan. He is currently concentrating on motion graphic design not only as a designer/animator at Spontaneous in New York City, but also as an independent moviemaker. Working and collaborating with different artists in various media, Kun-I Chang creates work that contrasts real life and the drawn image and always tries to promote motion graphic as a form of art. In the initial stage of Kun-I’s artistic life, he participated in several exhibitions both in Taiwan and the United States.
