John and Chaytee Saga

The John and Chaytee Saga is a trilogy of two-minute films by Heidi Gustad and Toby Jones. The first chapter, Sable Ligero was made in 2005, when Heidi and Toby were seventeen-year-old high school seniors. Sable Ligero was inspired by a conversation Toby Jones had in study hall with Danny Davy about the implications of an affliction such as John's in the Saga. When the 2005 2-Minute Movie Contest rolled around, Toby asked Heidi to act as the girlfriend, later dubbed Chaytee, of the man with the affliction, later named John. With the success of Sable Ligero at the contest, Toby and Heidi decided to flesh out this relationship and increase the legitimacy of these "fan films" by making an entire trilogy of them.
