Shown in public in several different versions, Hollywood Nocturne made its screen debut in early December of 1999 at the Fargo Theatre and in a few other preview showings. A few scenes from the movie were shot in London, England and New York City. A large nightclub number was set in the Crystal Ballroom of the Ramada Plaza Suites in Fargo, North Dakota. A final director's cut of the movie debuted in 2003.
