Exteriors for the film were shot at River Oaks Park in Moorhead. Interiors were shot at Minnesota State University Moorhead in the basement TV studios in Weld Hall, Carlson's parents' home on Rivershore Drive in Moorhead, and at the apartment on South Terrace near Oak Grove in Fargo that Carlson shared with Heidi Fjeld.
