Plot Summary[]
In this coming of age movie, a young man in search of truth and decision journeys to Lake Sakakawea with his buddies. They camp near a section called "Van Hook," where legend says a town was swallowed when the lake was created by the building of Garrison Dam. Meeting a Native American man who has insight into the Van Hook legends leads the young men to discover that "sometimes the circle of life... gets twisted."

Van Hook is said to be North Dakota's first SAG digital feature, and was shot with a Sony PD-150 in the Minot area. Editing was completed in June 2002.
