Thanks to a combination of cold temperatures and no snow, the waters along the north shore of Lake Superior froze like a sheet of glass in February 2007. Anglers, skaters and looky-loos flocked to the lake to see these unusual conditions.

All footage in the film was shot on February 21 and 22. The camera was attached with rubber bands to a crude wooden sled for the skating sequences.
