Four brothers reunite at the old family beach house after their estranged father commits suicide. During the dramatic weekend they sort through their father's belongings and their own memories, revealing various family secrets and struggling to resolve their own personal issues.

Cold Harbor was shot on 16mm film, largely on the coast of Delaware and in Baltimore, Maryland. It was released on DVD in March 2007 by Alpha Home Entertainment. For the DVD release Tom Brandau created a music video, Playing It Dead, for the song of the same name that was featured in the film.
