Beginning Filmmaking
From Fargo Filmmaking
Beginning Filmmaking is the title of a moviemaking course at Minnesota State University Moorhead typically taken before Techniques of Film Directing. The class was originally designed and taught by Ted Larson, and has incorporated work on Super 8mm film, 16mm film, and various types of video.
Traditionally, each student works on four projects throughout the semester. It is currently being taught by Kyja Kristjansson-Nelson, who has taken over for Tom Brandau. Rusty Casselton and Greg Carlson have also taught the course at MSUM. It now deals exclusively with 16mm film.
